Two restaurants are open daily at Grutas Tolantongo. "Las Palomas" is a full-service establishment and "El Huamuchil" is considered "economical". Traditional Mexican dishes are available including beef and poultry. Fresh seafood served is raised & harvested thanks to Grutas Tolantongo´s own aquaculture farm. Hidalgo´s barbacoa, prepared from lamb, is a traditional delicacy in the Mezquital Valley. Handed down from generations, it is cooked for hours in an underground brick oven covered with maguey branches that enhance its flavor. Hand-made corn tortillas & fresh coffee prepared in clay pot compliment the meal.
